Between purposes.

So after the second and final screening I went into hiding, or hibernating, for about a week. I skived off the graduation spectacle, and the class brunch, and shut myself in my room and watched movies and wrote a feature length screenplay. I've become something resembling a human being again since then, actually hung out with Tobbe and Min from class two days in a row, and now I'm relishing the fact that I seem to have internet at home again, for however long it'll last.

And I'm also itching to set up a web hosting account and rebuild my website more professionally or at least seriously but that is a very bad idea since I haven't got a job for the summer yet and won't be able to pay next month's rent, not to mention the mandatory get-together with the new class at the new school for the first few days which means I have to get myself from Stockholm to way off somewhere else in the country, pay for housing and feed myself whilst there. I had this half-baked naïve notion that I wouldn't have to get another grant for this year since it's mainly study-from-home and I'd be able to have a job and make some money at the same time, haah, yeah right! Well, to be honest, what with all the buzz at the end of (previous) school and then going MIA for a week, I haven't really had the time to put my back into looking for a job, but I'll get started on that for real first thing monday. But I think I'll apply for a grant for the first term anyway, just in case, and if I do happen to find enough work during that time, I won't apply for a grant for the second term. Not that it matters either way. I'm up to my eyeballs in debt already and there's no way I'll be able to pay it off, so what's another year going to do...

Possible good news on the film front, though. I might have a job on a novella film being shot this summer. Caroline, whom I did the internship on the zombie film with, has asked me to help her out with the casting, and maybe I'll get to tag along for the shoot as well, probably as an extras co-ordinator since that's what I mainly did on the zombie film. And unless they're shooting when I need to be in my new school. I really hope not because I'd really like to come, they'll be shooting at least one scene in London (at Gordon Ramsey's restaurant!) and that's just cool.

Website up and running (no, make that "jogging") again!

My website is up again! [ http://www.ida.cananime.net/ ] Since Mike decided to keep the domain for a while after all, and I'm leeching space off of him... I've only done a new layout (go figure, I know) and the welcome page and the about me page (again, go figure, I know already) but I'll keep working on it tonight maybe, add some portfolio stuff and some links, we'll see how I feel when I get home. Now I'm off to a dinner at my friend Ann-Sofie's place. If I don't get lost on the way... or fall over and is buried alive in the snow... that'd be an Alice in Wonderland way to go, wouldn't it... death by upside-down snow angel-making.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know about the site.

I just spoke to Ana on the phone!

I sneakily neglected to tell her about the post card I wrote to her this morning, so it won't be "old news" when it finally finds its way to her, unlike last time... not that it contained much news to begin with... not much has happened. I'm about halfway through the novel I'm editing. Tomorrow I have the kids' theatre group thing again. And I'm finishing up the application for the film course at the end of this week. Still unemployed, still living in my parents' basement, still had it up to here with the Swedish negativity. But things are looking up, I think. Possibly.

I have some loose ends that I need to tie up, like canceling my mobile phone plan and terminating my Canadian bank account, telling Claire I won't be going to Emily Carr after all, telling Emily Carr I won't be going there after all, what else... I'm sure there's more...

I was up all night and designed a website - the stupid codes were not very cooperative, hence the "whole night" part of that sentence - the actual layout took no time at all, I'm quite Photoshop-skilled, it's the html and css and whatnot that makes the whole thing tricky... I also discovered that the codes work differently depending on your whether you use Explorer or Firefox, why do they do that, I don't get it, I hate technology, it's fickle and spiteful and just won't do what I tell it!

intersection

Last night in Death by Chocolate we were serving the few desserts we had on styrofoam plates. Yeah. The dish washer is now completely broken. It's not just leaking water all over the floor and posing as a grave safety hazard for the poor employees scurrying all over the place, but it's actually broken. Which meant we couldn't use any glasses, plates, cutlery or anything that required washing, but all disposable stuff. Cheap, I know.

I really don't want to go back there tonight.

On the upside I'm getting stuff done, well kind of, I'm writing anyway. I'm on the third draft of my screenplay. We're discussing possible ways of promoting the thing and so on. This is the creative stage of our project though and I'm trying to make the most of it because eventually we're all going to be frustrated, uncreative and hating each other most likely... I'm with Cesar right now in Big News coffee shop, or "the clock tower" as I like to call it, and we've been discussing web layouts and promotional pictures, it's all very exciting..

My back really hurts since yesterday, although I don't know why. Probably all the typing...

Also a shadow of a feeling has risen from the past, the unrequited love of my life has come back to haunt me, but that's okay, I'm coming home for christmas and new years and I'll get to hang out with all my darlings back home and it'll be just like the old days... hey, a girl can dream for a moment right, before she has to get back to reality! :)

web site

Did I mention that I've updated my website and it looks gorgeous, well, at least compared to what it used to look like, it's got a whole new pretty layout as well as content for the first time ever, so that's worth a look for anyone who's interested? Oh, I did. Alright then.

Well that's all I have time for, I'm afraid. I have to make this brief, because I got a voice mail message from an agent yesterday and I'm just about to go to the bank to deposit my pay check and then I'm going to call her back. I will keep you posted.
